Today was a lazy day today with the only Birding being an evening visit to Brands Bay for the low tide. The four oversummering Brent Geese were still feeding on the far marsh. There are usually a few Brent Geese that start to oversummer in Brands Bay before disappearing to explore other sites within Poole Harbour late in the Summer. It was good to see the first two young Shelducks in the bay. Forty four Black-tailed Godwits and nine Curlews were feeding on the mud: they are also likely to oversummer in Poole Harbour. Finally there were six Redshanks which might be local breeders.
