1 Jun 23 - A Local Adder

Around mid-morning, I received a phone call from Mark Singleton who works for the National Trust to say he had bumped into a local Hoopoe near Dancing Ledge. I took the camera & walked up to the location in the hope of being able to add Hoopoe to a fledgling Walking From Home List. Unfortunately, I failed to locate & Mark later confirmed that as he passed the area about a half hour later, he hadn't seen it again.

Still my walk wasn't totally in vain with this local Adder that was hunting along the edge of this grassy patch.

I can't complain about life in the Isle of Purbeck when I have views like this within walking distance of the house
